Avnu Alliance sets the standard at the ISE 2025 Best of Show Awards

Avnu Alliance and its MILAN network specification has today taken home the gold at the Best of Show Awards at ISE 2025, the leading annual tech show for the system integration and audio-visual industry.

Recognised as the standout Mix technology at the event, MILAN’s deterministic network protocol facilitates interoperability and reliability to make media networking user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to implement.

“Since 2016, MILAN has represented a fantastic journey with fantastic people from fantastic ProAV companies,” said Avnu Alliance Board Member, Henning Kaltheuner. “It has now been proven at thousands of major shows, festivals, events and installations that networking can be easy, fun and robust while delivering outstanding sound quality. The feedback we’ve received from users has been overwhelming and we are proud to have achieved our first and most important goal.”

“The MILAN protocol winning this award is a fantastic testimony to the work of everyone at Avnu Alliance,” said Meyer Sound Director of Product and Services Andy Davies. “The way members have collaborated selflessly to create, promote and deploy a solution for the benefit of all our users demonstrates what is possible when we all work together. At Meyer Sound, we are proud to have MILAN at the heart of our solutions, and to continue our work with this award-winning protocol.”

The Best of Show Awards celebrate the very best products and solutions on display at ISE 2025, with hundreds of products and solutions reviewed by a panel of industry experts and editors. Factors included how diverse and comprehensive the solution’s features are, how easy it is to use, and how innovative and unique it is within the industry.

“With the growing demand for open-standard media networking, this recognition is well deserved,” said JOYNED Chief Technology Officer Morten Lave. “MILAN by the Avnu Alliance stands out as the only protocol that meets all industry requirements, combining precision delivery with seamless ease of use.”

“This prestigious recognition validates our long-standing commitment to creating the most robust and qualitative networking protocol available for the ProAV industry,” said L-Acoustics Executive Director of R&D, Technologies and Platforms Genio Kronauer. “At L-Acoustics, we’ve supported MILAN from its inception as we believe in its potential to helping audio professionals deliver the highest quality live experiences. Through initiatives like Milan Manager, we continue to invest in making MILAN more accessible and user-friendly for the entire industry.”

“MILAN’s open-access to standards and ease-of-use makes networked audio available to the entire industry, regardless of price point,” said Owner of ALLDSP GmbH, Jerome van Waterschoot. “Having seen the increase of interest in MILAN, we think that this award accurately reflects the impact the protocol is making on the industry. ALLDSP is proud to be a member of this community.”
