Information we collect through automatic data collection technologies:
As is true of most other websites, Avnu’s Websites collect certain information automatically and stores it in log files. The information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, the region or general location where your computer or device is accessing the internet, browser type, operating system and other usage information about the use of Websites, including a history of the pages you view. We use this information to help us design our site to better suit our users’ needs. We may also use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website, analyze trends, track visitor movements, and gather broad demographic information that assists us in identifying visitor preferences.
Our Websites may incorporate “web beacons”, or other similar tracking technologies (collectively, “pixel tags”) that allow us, or our agents, to track the actions of users of our Websites (known as “click-stream data”). Click-stream data can include Personal Information, such as the IP address of the computer you are using, the type of operating system and browser software that you use, the date and time of your access to our Websites, the website address, if any, from which you linked directly to our Websites, the website address, if any, to which you then travel from our Websites, and any similar traffic-related information.
We may also aggregate your click-stream data with similar data collected from other users in order to help us improve our Websites and the services we provide through our Websites. If we combine information which is not personal with Personal Information, we will consider the combined information as Personal Information.
Avnu has a legitimate interest in understanding how members, customers and potential customers use its website. This assists Avnu with providing more relevant products and services, with communicating value to our sponsors and corporate members, and with providing appropriate staffing to meet member and customer needs.

Cookies
Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognizes that cookie. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize information about you, such as your language preference or login information. Those cookies are set by us and called first-party cookies. We also use third-party cookies, which are cookies from a domain different than the domain of the website you are visiting, for our advertising and marketing efforts. More specifically, we use cookies and other tracking technologies for the following purposes:
- Strictly necessary cookies are essential in order to enable you to move around the Websites and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the Websites. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. Without these cookies, certain Services you have asked for cannot be provided.
- Performance cookies (for example Google Analytics) collect information about how you use the Websites, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don’t collect information that identifies a visitor. This is known as ‘digital analytics,’ where this information allows us to know what content on our site is the most and least popular, as well as allowing us to know how our users move around and interact with our website overall. The data collected through this cookie is not associated by Avnu with any individual person.
- Functionality cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your username, language or the region you are in) and provide enhanced, more personal features. These cookies can also be used to remember changes you have made to text size, fonts and other parts of web pages that you can customize. They may also be used to provide Services you have asked for. The information these cookies collect may be anonymized and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites.
- Marketing cookies are used to evaluate the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns or to provide better targeting for marketing. We use these technologies to track the actions of our Websites users and email recipients, measure the success of marketing campaigns, and compile statistics about usage and response rates.
Most internet browsers allow you to remove or manage cookie functions and adjust your privacy and security preferences. Outside of the use of the cookie settings in your browser, there are also browser-specific settings like “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) or “Global Privacy Control” (“GPC”). The DNT signal is not widely adopted and is not a finalized standard, so we don’t respond to DNT signals. Further as the Websites provides a site-specific preference indicator (via our “cookie banner”) the Websites does not act on GPC signals.
Please note that when using our Websites, you may be directed to other third parties’ websites for such activities such as survey or to view content hosted on those sites such as an embedded video or news article. These websites may also use their own cookies, over which we have no control, even if you are directed to them from our website.
As described above, Avnu uses Google Analytics to track how often people gain access to or read our content. Provided you have opted-in to analytics cookies, we use this information in the aggregate to understand what content our members find useful or interesting, so we can produce the most valuable content to meet your needs. To view an overview of your Google Analytics cookie please go here: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.
